Women’s Kabaddi cup
Indian women’s Kabaddi team has finally kissed the crown of our country’s traditional game second time consecutively after smashing Malaysia to the ground.The final match of the women’s category of World Cup Kabaddi was a one-sided show down at the grand finale held in Ludhiana at the Guru Nanak stadium in Ludhiana on Saturday. Indian women emerged victorious smashing the Malaysian women with the margin of 72-12 points.
From the start of the match, Indian women were in the top-notch form, so it was easy for them to defend their crown beating the Malaysian side with a huge difference lead points by 72-12. The final match was divided into two halves, each half comprising of two quarters of 15 minutes each.
The Indian women started the game with a bang and raced on to a 22-3 lead in the first quarter and the team was leading with the difference of 42-6 points, by the end of 1st half. The game began smartly using the back of some brilliant raids by Priyanka Devi and Priyanka Pilaniya.
By the end of the third quarter, Indian women’s team was leading by 58-8. Stoppers Mandeep Kaur and Jatinder Kaur showed their best game in this quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Indian team pumped in 14 more points. Malaysian women scored just 4 points in the last quarter and an overall 6 points in the second half. Indian women’s team won the match and the 3rd Kabaddi World Cup title by an overall margin of 72-12.
